
Daily Life as an AuPair
As an au pair, you take part in the day-to-day routine of your host family, experiencing life in the US at first hand and taking part in all the family activities.
You will provide 45 hours of childcare per week, working no more than 10 hours in any one day or more than 5 ½ days a week. This means that you will have lots of free time. All your responsibilities are centred around the children, so you’re not expected to do heavy housework.

- Waking the children and dressing, bathing and playing with them
- Preparing meals for the children, tidying up after them, making their beds and washing their clothes
- Driving the children to and from school or to other activities
- Helping with homework
- Babysitting in the evenings when the parents are out... and having fun with them!
